RESEARCH NOTES

01 Purpose and scope

Full comparison incomplete / Needs review. 5 directional categories remain pending. Pending is not historical absence.

1. Defining LGBTQ+: LGBTQ+ strictly denotes advocacy for sexual orientations and gender identities, bodily autonomy, and equal rights for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer individuals. LGBTQ+ identity or presence must not be automatically equated with general social reform or systemic social justice platforms.

2. Defining Social Justice: Social justice strictly denotes advocacy for systemic equity, structural reform of societal institutions, redistribution of resources, and the redressing of systemic oppression or power imbalances. Social justice must not be automatically equated with general civil rights advocacy, individual fairness, or standard equality measures.

3. Scope: Overlapping commitments do not alone establish conduct. Political disagreement alone is not harmful conduct; lawfulness alone neither establishes nor rules out documented harm.

4. Six Directional Categories: This record covers both directions across three core behavioral categories (Harmful, Ordinary/Neutral, Supportive). Supplementary commentary is subordinate to the six canonical sections.

5. Methodological Boundaries: Each directional section requires named actors, dates, exact source URLs, and inspected passages. Uninspected leads remain pending.

04 3. LGBTQ+ → Social Justice — Supportive interactions

On June 4, 2020, the National LGBTQ Task Force published a statement signed by Rea Carey and Kierra Johnson supporting racial-justice advocacy and calling for dismantling systemic racism. This is explicit structural-change advocacy, beyond generic fairness. Separate institutional mission supports LGBTQ+ advocacy actor fit. No formal partnership, delivered resources, completed reforms, outcomes or reciprocal endorsement is established. Sources [1] [2].

RESEARCH NOTES

08 Source inspection notes and qualifications

Source 1 —dated institutional intervention

National LGBTQ Task Force, “National LGBTQ Task Force Statement: Stonewall Was a Riot #BlackLivesMatter,” June 4, 2020; signed Rea Carey and Kierra Johnson as Executive Director and Deputy Executive Director.

https://www.thetaskforce.org/news/national-lgbtq-task-force-statement-stonewall-was-a-riot-blacklivesmatter/

Locators: institutional/systemic racism framing, public solidarity, structural demands and closing commitment (web lines 20–29, 39–44).

The named organization publicly supports racial-justice demands and calls for dismantling longstanding structures of racial oppression. This supports bounded structural-social-justice fit beyond generic individual fairness. The dated statement also explicitly situates its advocacy within LGBTQ+ equality work.

Limits: Public advocacy and commitment, not independently verified completed organizing, reform implementation, resource delivery or effects. Its historical accounts, legal characterizations, political assessments and allegations remain attributed, not audited findings. Black Lives Matter here identifies the cause/movement as invoked by the statement; no specific foundation’s authorization, membership or bilateral partnership established. Shared identities do not establish the reverse category.

Source 2 — separate institutional advocacy context

National LGBTQ Task Force, “About,” undated current organizational page; inspected October 27, 2026.

https://www.thetaskforce.org/about/

Locator: Mission/Vision and organizing paragraphs (web lines 11–13, 27–37).

Explicit mission of organizing and acting for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender and queer people supports advocacy actor fit beyond identity or progressive alignment alone.

Limits: Institutional self-description, not independent impact evaluation or historical proof of every current program operating in 2020. Anniversary language refers to 2023; do not invent a publication date from it. The dated 2020 statement independently identifies the relevant organizational advocacy context. Both retained sources originate from the same organization.

Interpretation and scope

One attributable public intervention retained. No inference that all civil-rights work is separate from social justice: the categories may overlap, and this classification rests on explicit systemic-racism/structural-change content. Likewise overlapping LGBTQ+ and racial-justice commitments do not by themselves establish conduct; the public statement supplies the action.

Cause-directed advocacy does not prove cooperation between distinct organizations. No claim of donations, verified protest attendance, legislative success or broad social effects. No new gameplay rule or identity-based moral score.

Inspection log: canonical draft, dated statement and current About page read. Search: site.thetaskforce.org 2020 Black Lives Matter statement. Other search-result material not retained. Bounded two-source inspection, not exhaustive.
