RESEARCH NOTES

01 Purpose and scope

Full comparison incomplete / Needs review. 5 directional categories remain pending. Pending is not historical absence.

1. Defining Socialism: Strictly denotes advocacy for social and economic equality, collective or state ownership of the means of production, and centralized or democratic economic planning. Socialism must not be conflated with general welfare policies, progressive social views, or standard center-left governance.

2. Defining Social Justice: Strictly denotes advocacy for systemic equity, structural reform of societal institutions, redistribution of resources, and the redressing of systemic oppression or power imbalances. Social justice must not be automatically equated with general charity, individual fairness, or standard liberal legal reform.

3. Scope: Overlapping commitments do not alone establish conduct. Political disagreement alone is not harmful conduct; lawfulness alone neither establishes nor rules out documented harm.

4. Six Directional Categories: This record covers both directions across three core behavioral categories (Harmful, Ordinary/Neutral, Supportive). Supplementary commentary is subordinate to the six canonical sections.

5. Methodological Boundaries: Each directional section requires named actors, dates, exact source URLs, and inspected passages. Uninspected leads remain pending.

REAL-WORLD · EVIDENCE

04 3. Socialist → Social Justice — Supportive interactions

On June 15, 2020, DSA publicly endorsed #8toAbolition and called for chapter support. Its stated focus on policing institutions, reparations and communities affected by racism supports a bounded structural-justice classification. This is advocacy and intention, not verified participation, financial aid, implemented reform or reciprocal endorsement. Separate public/worker-ownership and planning principles support socialist actor fit, preserving markets and pluralism. Sources [1] [2].

RESEARCH NOTES

08 Source inspection notes and qualifications

Source 1 —dated endorsement

Democratic Socialists of America, “DSA Supports #8toAbolition,” June 15, 2020.

https://www.dsausa.org/statements/dsa-supports-8toabolition/

Locators: opening affirmation, abolition/reparations paragraph and final organizational call (web lines 36–41).

DSA expressly endorsed #8toAbolition and urged chapter support. Its statement connects the endorsement to institutional changes in policing and redistribution toward communities affected by racism, supporting bounded structural-social-justice classification beyond charity or generic fairness.

Limits: Primary evidence of public advocacy and intention, not completed chapter participation, money delivered, implemented reform or measured effects. The statement’s political characterizations and causal assertions remain attributed, not independently verified. The linked campaign website failed to return readable content during this pass; its authorship, full platform and independent organizational history were not audited. Do not attribute every proposed measure to every social-justice advocate or infer campaign endorsement of DSA.

Source 2 — separate substantive socialist actor fit

DSA, “Where We Stand: Building the Next Left.”

https://www.dsausa.org/strategy/where_we_stand/

Page dated December 27, 2012; introduction identifies organization-wide development in 1990–1995 updating the 1982 founding document.

Locators: preamble democratic planning/market mechanisms (web line 65); Section 2, Vision of a Socialist Economy, social ownership and worker/public ownership (99–101).

Supports institutional socialist actor fit beyond party name or welfare policies. Preserve its role for regulated markets, pluralism and continuing internal debate. Earlier institutional economic principles provide context, not a newly drafted 2020 platform or proof that every member agrees. Economic and historical outcome claims elsewhere were not independently audited.

This economic source is reused transparently from Socialist ↔ LGBTQ+ for actor classification; it is not another independent campaign event. Both retained sources are DSA institutional materials.

Interpretation and boundaries

One public endorsement retained, not proof of a formal bilateral alliance, all subsequent participation, or reciprocal category. Social justice is a bounded analytical classification of the identified structural-racial-justice advocacy, not a universal platform or organizational identity imposed on every participant.

Inspection log: opened the dedicated canonical draft, June 2020 statement and economic document; followed the statement’s #8toAbolition link, which returned an internal retrieval error and was excluded as directly inspected campaign content. Initial discovery query: site.dsausa.org statements black lives matter 2020 police. Search-result-only material not adopted. Bounded inspection, not exhaustive.

09 Connection to Holy Wars

Historical research informs the project; characters and game effects remain authored fiction. No gameplay change, automatic alliance or identity-based moral score is approved.
