RESEARCH NOTES

01 Scope and evidence status

Section 1 retains a limited example of exclusionary public expression about a religious role. Five other directions remain unestablished. Full comparison incomplete / Needs review.

RESEARCH NOTES

02 Institutional stance, conduct and identity

Non-Political here means deliberate political abstention, rather than mere nonpartisanship. An April 22, 1987 Awake! article describes Jehovah’s Witness political and military neutrality, including accounts of electoral abstention. This supports an institutional stance before the later publication, without proving every adherent’s compliance or independently validating its historical accounts. [2]

LGBTQ+ identity does not require political activism. Religious, non-political and LGBTQ+ identities can overlap. The retained article concerns gay male ministers in its discussion of same-sex practices; it cannot establish a position about transgender people or every LGBTQ+ identity. [1]

The two articles share a publisher and are not independent corroboration. One establishes stated institutional context; the other establishes the publisher’s dated expression. Neither establishes personal compliance or measured effects.

REAL-WORLD · EVIDENCE

03 1. Non-Political → LGBTQ+ — Exclusionary public expression

In its August 8, 1989 issue, Awake! published an argument rejecting qualification for religious ministry in its discussion of homosexual practices. Its reasoning links ministerial eligibility to sexual conduct; it is not evidence that unacted-on attraction alone led to a person’s exclusion. [1]

An April 22, 1987 Awake! article separately describes the Jehovah’s Witness institutional stance of political abstention. The retained example is the publisher’s dated exclusionary public expression about a religious role, not a verified dismissal, expulsion, legal violation or measured injury. [2] [1]

It does not establish a position about every LGBTQ+ identity, uniform member conduct or the institution’s current policies. The theological judgments remain attributed, and political abstention is not established as the motive for the expression.

RESEARCH NOTES

09 Qualifications and remaining work

The category judgment is confined to the explicit public role-disqualification argument. Religious disagreement alone is not automatically harmful conduct. No named person’s applied exclusion, personnel decision, adjudicated discrimination or psychological injury is established by this pass. [1]

The article’s broad language and its conduct-based reasoning must both remain visible. It does not verify expulsion of every LGBTQ+ person or exclusion based solely on unacted-on attraction. Its opening biographical and medical account, seminarian estimates and third-party quotations were not independently verified or retained. Theological judgments are not objective findings about people’s worth or morality. [1]

The article’s ancient-law passage is not presented as an established modern instruction to use violence. No modern violence, legal violation or present-day policy is inferred from it. [1]

Displayed issue dates ground the publication attributions; original printed page images and first web-upload dates were not authenticated. Current online reproductions of other reference entries are not backdated from later printings. [1] [2]

The earlier 2014 stationer case remains held because the individual’s personal political abstention is unverified. Hypothetical schoolmate exchanges and general anti-mistreatment teachings do not become observed neutral or protective interactions. No reverse finding is inferred.

HOLY WARS · FICTION

10 What this means for Holy Wars

An institution’s stated political abstention does not determine its position on every social question. This scoped example creates no collective moral score, automatic conflict or new gameplay mechanic.
