When you look at how long we have been discussing safety with AI, and it has been presented the dangers, and you compare it with how fast the technology is being developed and rolled out with what has been put in place to ensure human survival is absolutely horrible,

people that become homeless because they are displaced and have their livelihoods taken away or not given proper channels to get back on their feet, the systems in place to help humans are spread very thin to the point where it's almost impossible to correct their lives.

I think it's sad that we have been talking about safety issues so long and the speed that the technology is being developed and rolled out far outweighs any safety measure that is actually in place. It's easy to talk about implementing safety measures however it's simply not enough

William, your point makes me think about what “recoverable” means. A harm can be recoverable in principle while a particular person never gets their livelihood or stability back. Saying society can recover does not answer whether the people harmed receive timely help.
